Travel is one thing that I feel makes life worth living. Seeing how various cultures live, meeting new people, taking in the beautiful world God created with new eyes gives me an appreciation for life that nothing else can.
But my current situation is sitting in my tiny living room on lock down. This virus thing is crazy right? I feel like this is some type of movie and I’m waiting for the credits to roll past so I can skip to the next one.
I’m sure I’m not alone but being stuck in the house for someone that loves to roam can prove to be quite upsetting or at least slightly distressing to say the least. But when I think about it, there are some good things that can come out of this time, if used wisely.
I have plenty to do and here is what I’m choosing to focus on during the COVID-19 quarantine
1. Gratefulness

I am focusing on the things I’m grateful for and one is that I’m truly, truly grateful that during this time I have a home to be quarantined to. There are many people that are without a home or place to lay their heads at night which puts them at an increase risk of catching the virus.
2. Getting things done

I am using this time to focus on things that otherwise would fall by the way side. I’m even expecting to finish painting my kitchen cabinets at some time.
If you have extra time, now would be a great opportunity to start on that project or business you’ve been putting off.
3. Connecting with God

I’m a Christian girl and believe in Jesus & God, so I truly want to spend a lot of time connecting to and praying. There are so many days when I run out of the house without even saying one tiny prayer and since my relationship with my creator is extremely important to me I shouldn’t keep neglecting it.
4. My next adventure

It’s freezing where I live, in fact it just snowed (insert facepalm emoji here). But just because I’m stuck in my current icy city, doesn’t mean I will always be! As my mom says, This too shall pass. So, take some time to get started planning your next trip. Plane tickets are super low right now, I just bought one to Europe (I’ve never been and I’m so excited).
As we are embarking upon a new normal, make sure you don’t get too attached to the trips that you book or plan as things are ever changing.
How are you spending your time during the quarantine?
Happy Travels (or in this case staycation),
